I recently bought an Xperia T.
It will only charge when the phone is switched on, but does not charge when the phone is switched off.
When the charger is plugged in whilst the phone is off, no charging LED light notification appears, which is usually red. HOWEVER, if I hold the power button whilst the charger is connected when the phone is off, the charging LED light notification appears and stays on only whilst the power button is pressed; so if I take my finger off the power button, the LED light disappears and if I press the LED light appears.
I have found that the phone does charge whilst the power button is pressed, but is somewhat troublesome and annoying. Any ideas?
Thanks.
One of the issues that I had since I updated to JB is that the led is always green, nomatter if the battery is charging, it is always green, as if it was fully charged. With IC, it was red while charging to turn green when fully charged.
I just assume this will keep this way til the day this phone will die.
Sorry man, I reinstalled JB two times and this issue and the rest, still remains.
That sounds very strange.
I recommend that you remove and reinsert the battery if you haven't done so and that you also try another charger and see if it works.
You should also try updating the phones software if you don't have the latest software (see http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-t/).
If the above doesn't help i suggest that you contact a service location for further assistance.
@Daloch
Try making a repair of the phones software and test it without restoring any backup. If that doesn't help i'm afraid there's something wrong with your phone/battery to and you need to contact a service location.

With a hammer and chisel.
I was under the impression that Xperia T had a sealed battery :smileygrin: .. If there is a way to open it please let me know how to open it ... I dont want a i Fixit Guide though...

I'll go stand in a corner for a few minutes
In Xperia T you will need to press and hold on/off and vol+ until the phone vibrates 3 times instead of removing and reinserting the battery.
