CHARGING CAP PROBLEM

I have purchased a new sony xperia zr mobile from univercell showroom on 21st august and right from the first day i have noticed that the micro usb flap (rubber plug) which covers the charging port is very loose and comes out on its own. I am very worried because the very reason for purchasing this mobile is its waterproof feature which is at risk if this flap doesnt function normally. I am very embarassed to show my new mobile to my friends because the flap falls out every minute.

I have called customer care and approached service center. They asked me to write an email to questions.in@support.sonymobile.com after which i received a response from the company saying that the problem is cosmetic and the warranty isnt applicable.

I wonder to see their response saying that the problem with the phone is cosmetic. Yes it might be true if sony xperia phone is just like any other phone out there in the market. But When they claim that the waterproof functionality of the phone works only when the charging cap or flap is plugged into the micro usb port, there comes the point. Its no more cosmetic. IT HAS LOT OF FUNCTIONAL IMPLICATIONS. A malfunctioning charging cap means you are making my phone NON-WATERPROOF. IS THAT COSMETIC?

Can they answer me why a small rubber flap is malfunctioning in the first week of its purchase? shall i say that SONY knows how to make the device waterproof but doesnt know how to manufacture a rubber flap?

Cant they think for a minute before telling that its just cosmetic.  A simple poll in the social media will prove whether its cosmetic or not.

Also it took two weeks for them to respond to my query which is not acceptable by any terms.

I'm sorry to hear about the loose USB cap and also about your support experience.

This needs to be fixed in order to ensure the IP classification and it needs to be fixed at a repair center. So I suggest that you contact your local support team to find your closest repair center.
