Charger / powerpack compatability

The Z1 standard charger is rated 1.5A (which is the maximum for BC1.2 USB standard).

Many other chargers / battery packs are rated lower - eg. 500mA but I have no idea if they comply properly with the charging specification (deliver 5V at up to 500mA, up to rated current at minimum 3.6V, current limit drops voltage below 3.6V to order the connected device to back off).

Wondering if the common powerpacks, like the one EE supply, may be a dangerous combination if they do not have proper limiting.

Is the Z1 actually a 1.5A charging device, or only a 500mA charging - the 1.5A charger suggests it may make full use of the battery charging specification.

500mA is only 0.5A so it's not going to damage your battery but it may and probably will take longer to charge from said powerbank - The only thing you need worry about is the Voltage and that it does not exceed the 5V limit - more than the 1.5A or 1500mA could and probably will damage your battery ovr time but how much is up for debate as this would charge your battery faster
