Change of IMEI after repair

Hello,

I have brought new SONY XPERIA XZ. From very first day i had problem with syncronizing contact with facebook, watsapp. deleting emails, 3g/4g week signal problem  bla bla...

I return cell phone to shop and claimed warranty. Now i have recieved same sony xperia xz handset back but (same phone with new IMEI number)

I am really surprised about this matter.... is it legal in sweden or elsewhere to change IMEI number '' regardless workshop is authorised by sony"

I have heard ''installation of  Unofficial firmware always brings new IMEI number''

Please guide.

You should contact your Local support perhaps they replaced the motherboard.

yes i think too.may be change motherboard. but contact local support center and get some note about that because if you will get any problem with your phone they will say you have different IMEI with your purchase bill and box also.

Hi @SONYXPERIAXZ, I'm sorry to hear that you experienced troubles with your phone and it had to be repaired.

As far as I know when the main board gets replaced you will receive a new IMEI number since it's connected to the main board in your phone.
