I am an Android beginner with a new Go. Despite the abyssimal battery life and crappy offline navigation I think I can live with this phone. I discovered that this particular SI is a Hong-Kong variant with English and Chinese keyboards.
How can I change the firmware customization to a generic one, or at least to a European one? I would like to stick with a Sony stock firmware and GB is fine until there is a proper ICS or JB firmware.
Could any of you point me to the right tools and tutorials?
there you go

Read a little bit and it seems to me there is no way to backup the current GB firmware because Sony tools offer only the update option, but no repair. I wouldn't want to start messing with it before a backup. Is there no other way?
if ICS it's not available for your phone you can click on update/repair and that will generate the files needed to create a backup of your current firmware
As I said before Sony tools do offer the update to ICS for my phone. I am looking for another way to backup the firmware.
