Hi,
Has anyone being successful in accessing a compact flash (CF) card using any OTG cable? If yes, can you tell me how you did it? Which cable you used?
Thanks in advance,
Partha
Can I use a card reader with a sony tablet?
What I'm thinking off is can I connect a USB card reader that reads writes to Cf, SD type memory cards from a camera too the Sony tablet so that I can view photos I have taken.
Thanks.
Yes you can. You will need an 'one the go's (OTG) cable that fits in the usb port. There a lots available on Amazon, e-bay and other similar sites. I've used mine to connect card readers, usb sticks, keyboards and mice with no trouble.
Thanks for the reply, I have to purchase a tablet as yet and this would be one off the main things I would require it for as I would like to view photos when out and about and email them on with the 4g tablet.
Again thanks for the reply it been helpful.
Have you tried it? Which OTG cable did you get? I have noticed that while I can read SDHC cards, I am having difficulty reading a CF card meaning that the card is not recognized.
Thanks,
Partha
I don't have any CF-card to test with but have you checked what file system you have on the card? It should be FAT32 or exFAT.
Also, the card reader that you use must work as a standard mass storage device. It should not need any special drivers.
Any OTG-cable should work.
It's a CF card I use in my D800 Nikon. The card is a Sandisk 32G Extreme formatted as Fat32. When I connect it to the tablet, the USB storage keeps flashing "safely removed" and never loads it.
