Car Mode not working correctly since update

Hi,

Since mu upgrade to Android 4.3 and Build: 10.4.B.0.569 this week my CAR MODE does not work as it previously did.

The problem I have is that when I am calling somebody it does not switch into landscape and uses the same call screen as you would in the standard call settings and in portrait only.

Also, when going to the Phone Home Screen the Car Mode disables automatically - it used to run in the background??

Is there a fix for this??

This is correct car mode does not change the final call screen to landscape ie the one when the call connects.

Also car mode appears to cancel when you hit the home button. It used to keep the home screen in landscape mode. This was useful although we could have done with a smart connect feature to allow the exit from car mode.

I use smart connect to switch to car mode when it detects my car kit which is great but the two limitations are a letdown.

I just received a reply back, and our developers will try to improve the behavior of the car mode application in the Android KitKat update for the phone.

I used Smart Connect to start Car Mode and Walkman automatically when phone connected to my car stereo via Bluetooth and music would auto play as well and the phone screen would remain lit with the phone unlocked... Now the screen locks out and tracks don't play automatically anymore.

The app 'Car Mode Control' available from the google play store fixes the issue.

Launch this app, and when in Car mode, the home key will return you back to the Car mode home screen. Need to tap on this app again to switch this mode off.

Non needed anymore: car mode issues have been fixed in Kitkat based (4.4.*) Xperia firmware releases.

Err, NO it's NOT FIXED on C6603 Nor has it been fixed once in over 14 months

It's possible (not checked) that the portrait/landscape issue have may not been fixed.

But  the (more serious) issue of the home key not returning to car mode launcher and activating to base desktop instead (which made car mode *completely useless*) has been fixed.

(note: I'm not using my Xperia anymore, so I could not be able to help further)
