Hello!
A couple of days ago, i received a notification, that an update 6.0.B.3.162 is available for my Xperia sola. To install this update, i must install PC companion. Ok, installed PC companion, connected my phone through usb to pc - but PC companion shows, that no update ir available, my phone is up to date. Ok. Then tried to update through sony webpage (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/software/phones/xperia-sola/), it found an update, but i got the message "in order to install update, i must disconnect my phone from pc, turn off, remove the SD card, the turn phone on and connect again to pc". Ok, followed these instruction. After i dit it all, i got the message "to install update you need an SD card in your phone with at least 60 MB free space".
I don`t know what to do next. The message in notification area still shows, that i have a new Android update available. But i can`t install. What is the problem? Bought the phone one week ago, SD card 8 GB. Current software 6.0.B.1.564.
i have the exact same problem..
well, had the same problem, so i inserted the sd again, ignored the message that appears, later when it started to update, another error message showed that there's a problem in the internet connection, but it seems that sony has removed this update and another update is coming next month

anyway, when is ICS coming for God's sake
6.0.B.1.564 is a stable version and .162 has lots of bugs in it. I recommend you to wait till .171 or .177 gets released.
You plz see all the posts that users post after updating .162 and even after seeing it if you really want to update it to .162 its upto u.
Ok, but how can i then remove this message about update from notification area?
Rennars, dont focus with it and try to ignore it till we recieve the new update
There's this reply i found replying a user asking about ICS for Sola and was complaining about the new .162 update:
Our developers are in the process of testing the handsets on the new versions of Android which Google has released. they want to confirm whether the user experience is stable enough to provide an update.
Until we have confirmation regarding this, we would be unable to provide a date for the official release of the update for your unit.
Best regards.
Francis.
