Cannot update contacts

I tried to edit a contact by delete the old number and inserting a new telephone number, then i press the tick Done button. After few seconds, the old telephone number appears. 

The reason I ask this is because, my ex colleage using this number (A), and when we resign, this number (A) assigned to another colleage. Hence I update the number (A) to the another colleage. But I could not edit, the number (A) will reppear in my ex colleage contact! 

I tried to manually edit the contact via web base gmail account and it updated on my phone too and never come back.

Hi, 

That sounds odd. Are you sure that you don't have the contact saved as both Google contact and phone/local contact?

Try to delete the contact and add it again and see if the behavior still persists.

all these while, i only set it to sync with google account contact. how do i check

When you select to edit the contact, do you have two or more tabs under the name? One of them should have the Google logo. 

If not, I would suggest that you delete the contact and add it again just as described above.
