Cannot sync contacts and calender

Hi

I cannot sync my PC (Outlook) and Arc contacts and calender.

What happens:

I start "Sync Zone" and press syncronize.

It starts and I can see progress and : Reading computer....Reading Google.....Error

for both contacts and calender.

The status report just says "Synchronisation failed due to an unknown error".

I've tried:

Reboot computer.

Disconnect and connect the phone and cable.

I have the latest PC companion.

I've managed to syncronise google contacts and the phone.

I added a meeting into the Gogole calendar and that gets uploaded to the Arc calendar fine.

I can send a gmail mail from the phone.

I've been synchronizing fine for a long time using a W995 and the older version of the SE syncprogram.

Help please!

I would first suggest that you double and triple check that you have entered the correct Gmail address (must be entire address, not just the username) and password, under the sync settings in Sync Zone. Because that's what's normally causes this problem.

If your Gmail address and password is correct the problem could be due to that your not using a Gmail address, maybe you are using a corporate address with a Gmail behind it. In that case you would have to enter the Gmail address that's behind the corporate one.

Do a search on the Arc forum, there is a solution to this, bit messy in places but does the trick, cant remember who posted it, but it is there.

I'm also struggling to sync my contacts -

on my PC I have outlook express, i try to use the sync zone in PC companion, and it tells me it's not possible as I'm not using MS outlook, I'm then advised to install outlook - obviously i'm not buying outlook just to sync my contacts -- any ideas ??

I am having a similar problem with my Satio.  My Phone Sync was working fine until I did an update of PC Companion.  Ever since I cannot sync my calendar not can PC Companion read the phone calendar - the PC Companion application simply freezes and then the only way I can close it is from the task manager on my computer.  I have reinstalled PC Companion several times.  I have reinstalled the phone software several times.  I have disconnected and reconencted the phone to the computer.  I have checked the cable etc. etc. etc but nothing works.
