Cannot prepare X8 for software update?!?!?!?!

Hi,

I have been trying to update my x8 for about 2 weeks now and have dramatically failed.  Everything goes fine until i have to prepare my phone. I unplug it, turn it off, wait, re connect and press the back key etc etc. and nothing. 

I have also tried Live Update and nothing.  I have also tried both PC Companion and Live Update on other computers and nothing! Slightly_frowning_Face

Really annoying and the company i bought the phone off are less than helpful about it too but over eager to charge me for doing nothing.:smileyangry:

Any solutions would be greatly appreciated!

Sorry can you please clarify that you have used the Update Service to try update the handset?

Yes, I initally used PC Companion but that failed to work so then was recommended to use the Update Service but that also failed

I would first suggest trying another PC to perform this task, as it could be related to a firewall or anti virus softwafe present on your PC.

I already tried the Live Update but also failed. however i got a suggestion to try during safe mode on my computer which worked using PC Companion.

Have to say, load of crap had to go through all of this. Other people have the same issue according to the forum's and it should be resolved alot more effeciently. Anyways!

I'm glad it's working, you can try this

turn off your phone, connect the USB cable while holding the back button (connect your phone on flashmode) then wait for the PC to find the drivers, it might solve the problem

I am glad to hear that it is now working, however please be advised that Safemode is only used when third party applications are interfering with the PC Companion application as well as the Update Service.
