Dear everyone,
since two days ago, my Z3C cannot activate Wi-Fi anymore. Whenever I want to start Wi-Fi (via the pulldown menu in the main screen or in the settings menu), the toggle button changes to 'on', but it prints out 'activating Wi-Fi...' and no Wi-Fi logo appears in the status bar. After some minutes, the button changes back to 'off' without any further message. No Wi-Fi connection is established in between.
The problem appeared for the first time when my phone was still running Android 4.4. Trying to solve the problem, I upgraded to Lollipop, which, however, did not change anything.
I have tried resetting the phone, the repair function of Sony Bridge for Mac (= firmware reinstallation), upgrading to the most recent Android version, and safe mode, but nothing helped. Stamina mode is off.
Any ideas? Could it be that the Android update went awry (it appeared before the update, but after lollipop was published in my region - maybe there has been a partial background update?), or is it rather a hardware problem?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Sorry to hear that. For me it sounds more related to a hardware issue since you have tried with reset and also software update/repair e.g. I suggest that you visit nearest service center to have the phone examined by a technician. You can contact your local support team for further information about nearest service center and/or how to proceed with this in the best possible way:
