Can't set song as ringtone

I'm not able to set my favorite song as a ringtone. When I go in the music library, it tells me "update" and I cannot open it. What can I do to solve this problem?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

When you select a ringtone under Settings -> Sound the phone may ask you which app you want to select ringtone with. Are you selecting the app called Sound picker? If you choose another app you may not be able to select a song as ringtone.

Could someone tell me how to check if firewalls are blocking access to port required by Google Play (TCP and UCP 5228) on my Xperia S?

How you do this depends on your firewall so i'm afraid i can't say. I recommend that you check the manual for your router/firewall or that you contact the support for the router/firewall.
