Can't charge

Have been having issues charging my xperia x. I have looked for solutions online but find nothing for this handset. Battery is dead ATM and won't turn on. The indication light is flashing from red,to green,to amber and then back to red. I have tried pressing power and volume buttons but as yet this hasn't helped. Does anyone have any idea if I can fix this or does it need to go back. Had since Oct .

Hi @Doddysgal, welcome to our forum!

I'm sorry to hear about the troubles with charging your phone. Slightly_frowning_Face

For how long have you tried charging your phone? If the battery is completely drained it may take up to 30 minutes before the phone will respond to charging.

If you have an SD card inserted in your phone, could you please try and remove it and see if you are able to start / charge your phone.

When you pressed the volume up and power button, did you receive any vibrations? Try holding both the volume up and power button pressed for 120 seconds, and ignore all vibrations > connect your phone to the original charger that was included together with your phone and charge it for at least 30 minutes.

Let me know how it went!

Tried that but still same issue. What does the colour combination red, green, amber, green. I've always had Sony. Never had this problem. Had it plugged in virtually all day.

Oh and to add. Phone does respond to pressing button s down by vibrating but goes back to disco lights as soon as I take my fingers off.

Thanks for the update!

You can try and perform a software repair using Xperia Companion, this will however require that your phone is charged to at least 80%.

Do you have another original charger that you can try and charge your phone with? If one of your friends, colleagues or family members also have an Xperia device maybe you can borrow one from them.

Should you experience the same behaviour after performing the software repair (if the phone is charged enough) or with another charger I'd recommend that you get in contact with your Local support team in order to be assisted with having your phone sent in to an authorized service centre.

Please keep me updated!
