Can i connect a router to my Z3 data plan?

I want to to know if i can use my Z3 as a source of internet from the data plan and connect my router to it to access the internet?

How would you be able of doing that if it is posible?

Hi thereal-l337g0g0, you can use your Z3 as your internet source. If you turn on mobile data & your personal hotspot under Settings > More > Tethering & portable hotspot, your device will become available under the Wi-Fi networks of other devices e.g. Laptop, PC, other handsets. Click on the Xperia Z3 (or whatever you have named your device) under the list of available Wi-Fi networks on a computer/other device and simply enter the password you set up on your hotspot. You should now be connected. Hope this helps.

NO but can a WIFI router connect somehow to access that internet?
I guess this is a question more about the router connecting to the phone to access the data plan, but i thought i'd ask you guys also since i'm not getting responces in the router forum...

you'd need to try a router extender, e.g. the securifi almond or something similar - that device can connect wirelessly to a wifi hotspot from your phone - it can then feed further devices by hard line or through the air - I'm trying a cheaper alternative this weekend for about £20.00 - the catch is this approach doesn't use your original router at all, which may be a dealbreaker if you were relying on that router's particular feature set..... you may need to explain what you're trying to achieve for people to help you more clearly, unless that's not a good idea (lol) 😁

I have the RT-AC87U, i don't want to buy an extender.

I just simply want to know if i can use my data plan from my phone to provide internet to my router.

Like for example, my PC doesn't have a wireless connecting only hard wire so my desktop PC can't use the Z3's data plan.
BUT if was able to have to Z3 provide Internet to the router then any hard wired devices can use the internet...
