CamScanner in camera apps

CamScanner in camera apps

When I launch the built-in camera app and swipe it to the Camera Apps screen, I see that there's an icon for CamScanner app there. Incidentally, I have a previoulsy purchased CamScanner app installed on my phone.

So, is that CamScanner icon I see in Camera Apps referring to my own CamScanner app or is it something that comes built-in with Xperia XZ?

If the latter is true, then what are the differences (if any) between the built-in Xperia CamScanner app and the retail verson of CamScanner?

Preloaded apps vary per region, I don't see any Cam scanner with my XZ

I'm pretty sure it's the app you bought and if you want to make sure then delete the app and see it there's still a camscanner app in the list of camera apps. Then download it again from the Play store.

Hi @Korben-Dallas

If you performed a transfer of data or used your Gmail account which had a backup, then it was likely redownloaded to match your previous handset setup.

But @uliwooly is also correct, apps are different region to region to.

Yes, apparently it is my purchased app that appears in camera menu. If I uninstall it, it disappears from the camera app list as well.

I was puzzled by the fact that when I launch CamScanner from the camera menu, it uses differently arranged GUI (different from when I launch CamScanner by itself). The GUI is obviosly tailored to Xperia camera and is consistent with other camera apps GUI.
