Hi,
I have noticed that when I want to shoot a picture, it takes about 1 second between the moment i press the button and the actual taken photo (the camera tries to focus even when it is already focused). Is it just my problem or is it normal? It is very unhandy when shooting moving objects, not speaking of the quality of such photo - I didn't manage to get a good sharp picture of my cat.
Just for comparison, my friends SGS4 shoots pictures immediately and saves the picture in the exact same moment as the shutter is pressed. The pictures are also a little blurry, because SGS4 doesn't focus but shoots immediately, but, surprisingly, it is still shaper image than from my Z1C.
Thanks for replies.
This is normal as the camera is focusing prior to the image being captured.

Wha, tand you think other manufacturers that docus instantaneously have somehow got it wrong?
Like the guy in the OP said, the SGS4 is MUCH quicker, as is the LG G2/G3. Your camera implementation **bleep** from a speed and quality perspective, which from one of the worlds foremost cameramanufacturers, is you have to admit a tad embarassing.
Ok, thanks for reply. Is there a possibility to turn this focusing-before-capture off? I always focus before shooting and it is quite unnecesarry to focus once again after pressing the button. Also, I believe that I sometimes focus better myself (I tap on the screen a few times until it's perfect) than it does automatically for the second time.

Not to my knowledge, you can of cource lock the focus pressing&holding the shutter button image (if serial photo is off) or half pressing the actual button on the side of the phone, but it still relies on the phones focusing. If someone knows a way to set manual focus or even lock the predone focus on stock camera that would be nice, i would however recommend checking out some camera applications with more control over settings. I got Camera FV-5 and i like its interface, there is light version of it too that is free.

For 3 year old it would seem appropriate to troll over samsungs superiority, and even if i agree on some degree, the purpose of this forum would be discussing about the features/lack of them on xperia, not trolling because Your parents did not buy You the phone You wanted.

READ what I said about me taking pictures of my 3 year old - I am 47 years old.
Since you obviously either cant read, or come to conclusions without any facts I would anyway ignore your valued comments.
If you wish to be pedantic regarding specifications I would recommend Sony simply start by copying off Samsung for performance, operation, quality, and testing then add some useful USP's which are actually beneficial, rather than the 20M headline grabbing featureless poor quality offering they have opted for.
Sorry for the excessive sarcasm, which was obviously wasted, I was merely trying to point out the ranting nature of Your post and that it did not exactly contribute to the subject. Just trying to stay in focus here.
Have you tried to do a factory reset and clean install of the phones software?
My wife has the same problem on her camera that it refocus even when the focus is already locked.
On my phone that problem doesn't exist and the only difference is that I did a clean install on the newest software and my wife upgraded to keep all her settings untouched. She also has problems with the camera freezing and mine has never had that.
Either they have some hardware issues with the camera or the software is unstable depending on how you installed it.
We will try to make a clean install on her phone and see if it works better after that.
