Hi everybody,
I'm have a problem with two Xperia Z1 Compact's.
Every time I want to make a photo or a video in Whatsapp with the camera button on the device, the screen goes black and after 5 seconds an error appears saying that the "camera is not availible.
Does anyone ever had the same problem with an Z1C and what can I do to solve it?
Clearing the camera cache doesn't work at all and I tested the camera functionality in Save Mode.
Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.
I think that the camera in Whatsapp doesn't work with the device camera button so instead of taking a picture with the camera button you will start the inbuilt camera app instead. And the camera can't be used by 2 apps at the same time and that's why you get the error.
You can remove the feature that the camera button will start the default camera app but that won't help you take pictures using the whatsapp camera since it doesn't seems to be working with a hardware camera button.
Hi Alexander,
I Think that your statement about the Z1C the hardware camera button can't get along with 2 different apps, is wrong. The reason why I think it's wrong is because when I take a picture with the Facebook app or with Twitter, the error does not appear when using the hardware button.
So any other ideas?
Hi,
I didn't mean that the hardware camera button only works with the default camera app. I mean that it doesn't work with the Whatsapp camera. It seems like the Whatsapp camera doesn't support a hardware camera button. I can't take picture with the hardware button using the Whatsapp camera in my Z2 either. So I suggest that you contact the developer for the Whatsapp application to leave your feedback regarding this and hopefully they will add support for a hardware camera button.
