Camera lens stains

I own a Xperia mini (ST15i). Few weeks back i noticed that it had some sort of stains on its camera lens, due to which the photos i took appeared blurred. I assumed it to be scratches and gave it service centre to get the lens replaced, the technicians too were of the same opinion. Its almost a month now and i still havent got my phone back.. lame excusues from sony again Slightly_frowning_Face

Then recently i noticed same problem with my friend's phone too.. that includes an Xperia mini and Live with walkman. They have been usin it with real care and are sure that they have done nothing to cause any scratches or stains.Thats when i started to wonder if its really scratches or if its some sort of degradation due to poor quality, basically a manufacturing defect, may be..

pls help to identify the real prob

Hi, i sorted that problem, but it`s funny how i did it... The camera lens have some blue-ish coating, right? It looks cool, but, 3 months ago, it kinda got wiped randomly (i don`t know what is the reason, maybe a scratch, or some chemical influence, sweat, alcohol...), and i got lens with leftovers of that blue coating, so the pictures got blurry right on those places where the stains appeared. So, using just my watered finger nails, i got rid of the blue coating (it was a 10 minute scrubbing), and there I had it, just clear, transparent regular lens, and my pictures since then are perfect. There are no scratches,  so it seems to be a tough material, great job Sony Ericsson! Smiling_Face_with_Sunglasses

It seems that my post will be read a lot of times, `cause there is a lot of Mini`s facing this problem...

Thanks very much for this tip. I had the same issue and the camera was almost useless. I have planed to take the phone to the service center...but before that I have done some search here and found the answer Slightly_smiling_Face So I used your technique and it works !

same problem presented my Xperia Ion LT28h. I decided, apparently with the solution proposed by the user "petko83f" using the nail. Now, I think I just withdraw completely, the protective layer on the smartphone camera lens! However, the picture image restored their focus!
