Just got Xperia M2 yesterday. Used Sony PC Companin to transfer data from Blackberry to PC and then to Xperia.
Everything worked fine and all data transferred - EXCEPT Calendar!!
Ran programme a few times; reboooted phone - still nothing.
AND - since then - when I try to access the calendar on the Xperia - I get a message pop that says..."Unfortunately, Calendar storage has stopped"!!??
This message has an "ok" button and when preseed the calendar disappears - so I cannot use the calendar at all as I can't even get in to enter data manually if I can't transfer it?
What do I do????
Sorry to hear that you have issues with your calendar.
I'm afraid it sounds like there's something wrong with the calendar data that has been transferred to your phone. Calendar Storage is the app that holds all calendar entries and if it force closes like that it sounds like there's something wrong with the data now stored in it.
Try clearing data for "Calendar" and "Calendar Storage" under Settings -> Apps -> All (this will delete all calendar data) and then restart the phone. Then try transferring your calendar again.
If this doesn't help, what operating system does your BlackBerry have? Have you noticed any issues with the calendar in it?
Thanx - I'll try that.
The Blackberry has version 6.1 - which is usually pretty stable?
I haven't had any problems with the calendar on the Blackberry previously.
Before I tried to transfer the data via PCC - the calendar on the SOny worked fine - it was only since I tried to transfer that I am getting this
conflict and pop up!
I'll come back and let you know later......
thanx again
Great, please keep me updated.
In case it doesn't help, could you also repeat the steps but try making a new backup of your old phone and try transferring from data from that?
Hi - neither of the above suggestions worked, even tried a "force stop" in calendar - storage etc and rebooted after a few hours ....nothing!
I also have a backup of data from the Blackberry - but it still won't acceot it in the Sony via PCC!
I am about to do a PCC repair/update - where I will apparently lose all the currebnt data on the phone as it resets as if it just ame form the shop!!
It's pretty drastic having to wipe the thing when it isn't even 24 hours old!!!!
Any other less drastic suggestioons anyone????
I can't say for sure as this is not a known issue but i suspect the issue is in the calendar data and not the phones firmware so a repair in PCC will probably not help but it could be worth a try to make sure.
Does your BlackBerry support any other means of exporting the calendar? Could you for example synchronize it with MS Outlook, Google Calendar, Exchange ActiveSync or similar?
