Hello all
I've had a Cybershot C902 for just over 7 years, and it's worked pretty well up until recently. However, it currently has two problems.
First & most importantly, the warning message "Battery error - stop charging" started to appear whilst charging. Unplugging & plugging in the charger cleared the message. However, after several months, the battery took progressively longer to charge, and eventually failed to charge more than 1%, after which the phone no longer turned on. Around the same time the phone began abruptly turning off when I used the camera flash (but not the same continuous light with the video camera). Cleaning the charger & battery contacts made no difference, so I assume the fault is due to the battery being 7 years old?...
If this is likely the case then I'll get a new battery, since I'm happy with the phone otherwise. Does Sony still stock batteries (BST38?) for this model, or is Amazon a good enough bet?
Less critical, though still a hindrance, is that the 'up' navigation key no longer works. I don't know if this is a mechanical or a software problem, though I assume the former. Is there any way I can fix it, or is it likely to require a repair shop?
I emailed Sony customer service with the above issue, but then found the forum so thought I'd cross-post here too; sorry if it's the same people answering!
Cheers for any pointers
Alex
that is a really old phone good job on keeping it up. but i think the battery has reached its end of life, so best bet is to buy a new battery pack , most likely on 3rd party retailers. since Sony does not support these phones anymore. about the keys, you go to your trusted repair shop to have it looked at.
