Buttons not working correctly

Hello

For someone my keyboard on me Xperia X10 Mini doesn't seem to work as it should and by that i mean when i press some buttons like the . or a it

will print out more than one letter or even a whole string of numbers. Also when i press the back button all it does is close the app rather then going back. Which is what the middle button should be doing.

Any help would be great.

Try updating the phone using Sony Ericsson Update Service or Se Pc Companion and if that does not work I woul;d send the phone back.

When ever i try to update it..just says its already the latest software and won't let me re-update the software?

EDIT:

When i try to update via the PC Comp i get an installation error when trying to update.
