Bugs on xperia go

First bug is that the light sensor does not adjust the screen brightness, despite it being on in the settings. It just stays at the brightness the bar is on. (light sensor works since I have tested it in the service tests.

Second issue is that the fast capture is really not fast at all. Acording to sony advertising, it is "just over a second". Yeah right, mine takes about 4 seconds after the action on the lock screen is initiated (on second attemp is faster but if you have not used the camera every hour, itll be slow). Infact probably the same speed as manually selected the camera after unlocking.

Third issue, Micro sd cannot be used to store apps! Its treats its own phone storage as micro sd space. Phone memory is 1.5 gb of its internal storage and sd storage is 3.6gb of internal storage. My micro sd works fine, it gets read fine and can save pictures etc onto it, it knows that it has 14gb free but does not use it for sd storage.

Fourth issue (kind of, more of a lack of testing), on video mode, on the camera. the first setting you click on (top left), opens up a box which says "video" and nothing else. What is the point of this setting? Get rid of it and put something from the menu there which actually does something,

fifth issue (minor one), clicking on the pictures in the photo widget, brings you to a black screen (doesnt freeze the phone, back or home will take you out of it) and it usually works on the second attempt.

Cheers, I hope someone replys to these.

These issues were all found within one day of use. Makes me wonder it sony even tests their products.

Thanks.

1) This works only in applications that support this, as designed.

2) This obviously can depend on external factors (running applications, available memory), how was it in the beginning?

3) When you are in SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS > MANAGE APPLICATIONS do you not have the SD card tab? If you only have the Downloaded tab, when you select an application, do you not see the "Move to SD" button? Let me know!

4) This is the standard camera layout, no plans to change this.

5) Did it always do this? It might be a conflict.

Hope this gives you insight.

Hi jeff, thanks for the reply.

On a second look the automatic screen brightness seems to work (its alot less obvious than the active and does not go dark enough in a pitch black room).

Ive installed a task killer which is set to kill apps every half an hour so I dont think bloat could drag it down and maybe I was being alittle harsh, obviously its faster in well lit areas maybe around 2-3 seconds but still a far cry from the 1 second promised.

The SD card tab does not use its sd card but phone memory.

As you can see here a 16gb is installed with plenty of space, but it doesnt see it as sd storage and instead uses itself:

As you can see, it uses 4gb of its internal storage as SD storage and the SD cannot be used to store apps, what is going on?

And the video camera mode setting seems so silly.

On video mode, the top left icon here:

Juest seem like poor design tbh, reminds me of those old sybian nokias.

Yeah it did always do that with pictures widget but its no biggie that one.

thanks

I have the exact same problem. The on SD card tab shows the internal memory and I haven't figured out how to get the apps to be installed on the SD-card

Yeah there seems to a big issue with this phone regarding to the SD storage, every second topic on these forums is something related to issues with the sd storage.

Sony must take note.

I found a free workaround to access the SD: Total Commander. This program is very popular on PCs. Now it is in a version for Android.

For all those experiencing the issue with being unable to store applications to the memory card on the Xperia go, please reply to THIS POST with your software version (SETTINGS > ABOUT PHONE > software version build number).

I would like at least a few different versions before we forward this issue to the appropriate team.

My version is 6.0.B.3.162

But this doesn't help you to install apps on the SD, right?
