brought a new xperia j and it wont let me send text or make outgoing calls to some of my nubers yet it will do so to others why???

hi, i bought the xperia j 5 days ago and havent messed around with the settings at first i thought it might be the call baring but it isnt for some reason my xperia j will let me send and text to and make an outgoing call to some of my contacts but not all of them why  is this and can any solve my problem

That sounds strange! Are you using the standard SMS application?

Try start your phone in safe mode. Press and hold the power off option to restart the phone in safe mode. In safe mode none of your downloaded 3rd party apps will be active. 

If the problem persists in safe mode, I suggest that you try with another SIM card in your phone.

And if that doesn't help I recommend that you update/repair the phone software using PC Companion:

Honestly, I hate this phone a lot of the time. It does some really nice things, but this garbage with the texting is infuriating. It has "texting" and "texting plus." It seems that you need one to send photos, and another for written text. I'm also locked out on texting people right now, which is why I'm wasting my precious time surfing the web instead of getting back to my friend (which I'm locked out of doing). For others of you out there, don't get this phone.
