So my screen is completely shattered after it hit the center console in my car. I've been using the phone for almost 2 years now so it's out of warranty. I contacted US Xperia Support and I was told that they no longer do repairs on out of warranty devices.
I was wondering what's the best way to fix it now? I called a couple of third party repair shops and they all gave me an estimate around $120~$150. Not only that's very expensive for a phone that currently costs $299 brand new on amazon, but also none of them had the screen in store and told me they have to order it.
Should I try fixing it myself? Can anyone give me a link to the screen with good reviews? all the ones on amazon seem to be very low quality based on people's reviews.
P.S: I am extremely dissapointed more and more of Sony Mobile US. They are doing horribly on marketing and costumer service. No wonder they lose money on the mobile devision every year.
you could DIY, it's quite simple, just make sure to have the right tools and not only get a new LCD but both double sided adhesive, if the flaps are a bit loose, this is the time to replace them, as for the LCD, you might want to check eBay
