My Z2 was behaving normally until yesterday I locked it, set it down, picked it up to unlock it and nothing. Phone is completely unresonsive. Plugging it in results in it trying to boot up but the power cuts out about a second into the boot process, so it tries to boot up again and the same thing happens. It is stuck in this loop whether I plug it in via micro usb or the magnetic charging port on the side. Can't reflash or use Sony PC Companion because device will not stay connected for more than a second. Holding key commands to try to get into recovery mode also is not working. Please help!
Try performing a system repair as this will often fix issues - This will factory reset your phone
Switch off your phone and unplug from Pc (Hold volume up and power for around 10 seconds)
Start PC Companion and select Support zone then Update my phone/tablet then in Blue Repair my phone/tablet and follow the onscreen instructions - When prompted connect your phone still switched off holding volume down or back button - This should start the repair or reformat process
If you are using Windows 8/8.1 or a 64bit operating system then adjust the settings for PC Companion and run in compatibility mode and chose Windows 7 or XP
Phone will not stay connected long enough for the process to intitate. Perhaps it might be dead but it will not charge because it wont stay connected to anything.
Check device manager for the driver when connected in Flash mode as above - I had a simalar issue yesterday - I'll find the thread and post the link for your consideration
So this thread refers to the Z1 but the process is exactly the same - Flash drivers are available to download via a link in one of my posts - I also helped that member traverse device manager and install the Flash driver

I proceeded to install the correct drivers and it still will not connect. I am beginning to think this is potentially a hardware issue...
Sorry to hear this but in circumstances like this the best advice we can give is for you to return your device to the place of purchase or contact Xperia care to have your device inspected http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/support/contact-us/
Thanks for your help

Hi,
Just to check, are you using the Flash and also with a phone cover or protection anything like that?
Try to post a picture for us to take a look as well to have a better understanding of it.
