Brand new Xperia M2,Headphones not reconized

Hi, just plugged the supplied headphones into my new sony xperia M2 phone,only for them not to work and a message popping up saying " HEADSET NOT SUPPORTED". Tried another old pair and got the same message. Any help would be great,cheers

Try to clear data for smart connect and plug them in again.
