I feel kinda screwed here, I purchase phones without contract on purpose so that I do not have locked bootloader restrictions, though i cannot with this Xperia T, It's a lovely phone and I'd prefer to not return it for this restriction.
I'd love to get my hands drity on the Xperia T' s kernel source
What would you guys recommend me?
FYI, I only rooted the phone and updated to Jelly Bean.
I can unlock my bootloader, but I don't want to.
Luck of the draw.
you wont be able to unlock the bootloader if the phone its network locked, you should return it and buy a SIM free phone directly from Sony, remember that this is not up to Sony as carriers request this lock
that's the weird thing, i bought it from an independant store (Coolblue in the Netherlands) without contract, and SIM free (just cutted my Vodafone sim for this)
Also sent an email to Coolblue for a solution, hope they'll respond soon.
Unfortunately this still means that the stock they are using is made specifically for one network or another and this version has the bootloader locked up.

Thanks, i' ll trade the phone in then and see if i get one without a locked bootloader
Well, yesterday i got my replacement from Sony - Insta-rooted and unlocked it and happily running custom kernels and ROMs.
Cheers!
