Bluetooth problems on SP after Jelly Bean update

Update to Jelly Bean - Why??!

Prior to updating to Jelly Bean, my SP worked flawlessly, as far as I could tell.  I saw that the Jelly Bean update was available and decided to install it anyway, you know, newer must be better.  Well, as the Sony support person told me on the phone, "if your phone is working well, don't do the update"; translation: if it ain't broke, don't fix it.  Thanks a lot for the advice.

I've come across quite a few flaws since the update, but my biggest one is with the Bluetooth function.  I have 3 Bluetooth devices.  My SP would connect automatically with whichever one I was using, every time I needed it to connect.  Since the update, not only will it not connect automatically with any of them, I have to pair to each device every time I want to connect to it.  If someone has some help for me on this topic, I would appreciate it.

Also, my walkman app won't play .wma files anymore, since the update.  It used to play them just fine.  Help!

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

I would suggest that you try to boot your phone into safe mode to see if the problem may be related to any 3rd party app that you have installed in your phone:

If the problem persists in safe mode I would suggest that you try to reinstall the phone software using PC Companion:

http://www.sonymobile.com/update

In PC Companion, press start on Support Zone > Start on Update the phone/tablet software > Press the blue link that says "Repair phone/tablet".

Before repairing the software in your device you may want to backup your information first. Check out this topic for more information on how to:

Thanks.  I am worried about using PC companion, because when I originally did the update through the companion app, it killed my phone.  Couldn't start the phone until I used the update service from the sonymobile website.  Is there a "repair" service on the website?

You can use Update Service to repair/reinstall the phone software also. Just follow the instructions in the program.
