Hi,
I have discovered a Bluetooth issue in my car system since upgrading to latest sw (2.17).
It seems that the Xperia 'forgets' to send an acknowledge message that the call is disconnected and the BT 'call-link' can be released when the call is disconnected FROM the car system (steering wheel button i.e)
When I disconnect the call FROM the car system, the call is disconnected on the Xperia, but the car system shows that it is still ongoing, and 'freezes' it - meaning You cannot swith to radio or CD, pressing 'disconnect' agin on the car system doesn't help. The only way to release the system from the Xperia is to make a call again and disconnect that call ON the Xperia, or turn off BT on the Xperia.
If the call is disconnected by the other caller, or if it's disconnected ON the Xperia, it works as it should , the car system is released , NO problem.
I kind of think SONY support should look at this, since it's pretty clear that the Xperia does something wrong.....probably as I mentioned in the beginning, it 'forgets' to release the BT-link when the call disconnection it initialised FROM the car system.
Has anyone else experienced the same??
BR
I have had the same problem, when I first got my Experia L at the beginning of July it worked fine on my handsfree bluetooth car kit. At some point about 4 weeks ago I realised there must have been an upgrade on the software as I suddenly had the option to use my call lists, which I hadn't seen before. Unfortunatekly at virtually the same time I started to experience problems disconnecting my calls. When I go to disconnect it hangs, loses part of the information ie the name of the person I've been calling and becomes an unknown caller but it doesn't disconnect the audio so you can't listen to the radio or make any further calls. I can receive further calls if someone rings me. The only way I can disconnect a call properly from the car audio is to turn off the bluetooth manually on the phone but even when I've done this if I put the bluetooth back on it still shows that a call is connected on the bluetooth system on my car. My phone is now at the repairers for the third time this week with Vodafone and I'm hoping they come up with a replacement this time as I'm gutted that it doesn't work properly any more and if it doesn't work with my handsfree kit it's not fit for purpose. I know it's not my car as it works fine with my old HTC wildfire.
Yup, this sounds exactly like my problem, even the thing with turning off bluetooth, and when turning it on again the call is still up....
My workarounds is to let the other party disconnect the call, (that usually works if it was to another mobile) or make a new call, using the mobile, not the car system cause that hangs, then disconnect it immediatly on the mobile, then the carsystem usually releases the BT audio connection.
I'm gonna try and verify the problem in several cars during the weekend, and then contact Sony Support....hopefully they will realise that this function is broken and releases a fix for it....
I have the same problem with a Sony Ericcson MW600 Handset.
I bought a new car in June 2014 and since then I've been experiencing the exact same problem with my Sony Experia L. All the details in the replies above apply , inclusing the possible workarounds (i.e., ask the other person to hang up the call, or make a call from the mobile and hang up fast to release the system, or even hang up the call in the mobile directely and not from the car system).
All these operations are difficult to perform when driving with traffic and I usually have to stop the car. The 4th option is to stop the car and turn the car off completly. There's nothing else one can do from the car system at it freezes the radio, other controls, etc.
*Any news or developments? I had bough the Experia L in January 2014.*
How did you end uo solving it? Did Sony release some upgrade to fiz this huge problem?
This is quiote serious. I already've been close to having two road accidents because of Sony Experia not terminating the calls and freezing all my on board computer system of the car.
No news about this? It's so dangerous to be driving when a call ends and all the on board computer system gets frozen because Sony Xperia L bluetooth does hang up the call.
