Bluetooth pairing problem

I have trouble pairing the phone via bluetooth with the cd receiver in my car. When pairing other phones to this device, they display a dialog box for entering the four digit passcode. Xperia e1 just displays a message  that pairing has failed due to wrong passcode. From the phone manual I gather that the phone automatically tries to enter the code 0000. How do I bypass this to enter the code manually?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

Your phone will automatically try using 0000 but if this doesn't work it will ask you for the code so if your car has another passcode your phone should ask for it.

Make sure that the unit in your car is set to pairing mode and turn off any other bluetooth devices that you may have and see if it works.
