Bluetooth Issues

I have a 2013 Toyota 4Runner, once the phone is paired and I try to stream audio via Bluetooth the only application that seems to work so far is the Sony Walkman Player the rest like Google Music, Pandora or iHeart radio will still show the music is playing but no sound will come out of the speakers. Has anyone have this problem? I was able to do this with a lot older phones than this one.

having the same problem with my new Kia. I turn the music volume up to max and can barely hear it coming out of the speakers.

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems too. I also contacted Sony and they said that they cannot guarantee compatibility will all Bluetooth devices, which makes sense. But now I'm starting to think this is not a sony problem but a problem coming from the 3rd party music apps. The reason I say this is because the Sony Walkman app will stream with no problem to my car with excellent sound but none of the others will.

Since I've been having this issue that really turns out to be a big inconvenience, I was doing some testing last night and part of this morning. I found and installed and application called Bluetooth Connect and Play. As you probably already know as soon as the Bluetooth connection is made with any radio, the Xperia will start playing songs from the Walkman App and then, when you switch to another application like Google Music or Pandora no sound would come out the car speakers, what this Bluetooth Connect and Play does is that it allows you to choose which music application to start when you activate Bluetooth streaming. I tested it this morning with Google Music and it worked, I was very happy to finally be able to stream some music form the cloud. After about 10 minutes it stopped working, I don't know why, but I'll keep testing.

Great to know about the Bluetooth Connect app. I also found an app yesterday that has solved my volume issues... it is called "Bluetooth Volume" (how simple, I know). But it worked like a charm and I finally do not have to crank to volume to max in my vehicle for wireless bluetooth music streaming.

Thanks for the tip, I'll give that a try. I might have a volume issue and not know it.
