I have an SE Xperia Arc S and it only shows a blank screen when booting up.
It has been working for a few months. I've updated via PC Companion and it still only shows the blank screen when I try to turn it on.
Memory card is accessible and PCC recognizes the phone LT18.
It doesn't vibrate when I turn it on but you know that it is because of the glow of the blank screen.
Hardware issue?

nope i don't think it's a hardware issue rather than a software....ok..mm...
perhaps i think update service would do the job.....

connect your'e phone with pc through pc companion
then go to SUPPORT ZONE>REPAIR SOFTWARE wriiten in blue...
since you said that pc companion is recognizing your'e phone...
keep me update after this process if any problem presists do let me know......
I already did last night and it didn't work. Really looks like LCD got knocked or something.
How much do they usually charge for LCD replacement/repair?

Bumping this thread up.
I've been observing the phone and it would seem that it only wants to display when it wants to.
At times, I observe it during certain battery charge levels.
Got it checked by a local cellphone repair and says battery is not working properly.
Tried my colleagues Arc S battery but same results, blank screen.
So I rule out that the repairman was wrong.
Now, software is upgraded to the latest. Should I reupgrade again? Do the fix my phone steps?
Or would you think that just some screw or whatever contacts it has inside is just loose and needs some tightening? **I don't hear any moving parts inside the phone when I shake it. Hahah!**

I have the same problem as mentioned by Yonjiru. I did run the update service and also I repaired the phone using pc companion but no luck. 
I have purchased this phone (Xperia Arc S), from Stockholm, Sweden in last February 2012. Currently I am in Dhaka, Bangladesh and there is no local service centre here. I still have the warranty.
Can anyone suggest what should I do?
