bbc iplayer, itv player issues

i have both bbc ,itv player apps from play store on my phone. they used to work fine, but now when i try and use them i have a problem, i can browse and select the program get the start loading screen then get black screen only. it does not work even if i go throught internet browser as well now. any suggetions please.

I had a reply from the BBC today about the I Player app not working for Xperia Arc & Arc S when running ICS.

The BBC are currently working on a fix with Adobe, they havent given up on this known problem - there isnt a timescale for when a fix is released, when it is ill update this thread.

BBC I Player app still work's fine if your Arc / Arc S is running Gingerbread.

We've are working with our service partner in trying to deliver iPlayer to Xperia Arc S devices.

Unfortunately, there has been a series of setbacks with Adobe Air runtime, which has had bugs affecting Xperia Arc S. Our service partners are trying to resolve the problem. Once resolved we'll update our list with the Xperia Arc S device.

However due to the nature of how Adobe Air Runtime is updated, the very earliest we expect the problem resolved and for iPlayer to become available to these devices is December, but this could very likely slip into early 2014, due to third party issues.

We understand the inconvience of not having iPlayer, and as soon as we can, we'll make iPlayer available.

Anyone know anything about the update on bbc iPlayer yet?Wish I'd never updated my phone,it's slow and prefer old features anyway.

I've not heard anything yet about the update, we are still only in Jan 2014.

Im not really to fussed about the update now as I rolled my Arc S back to Gingerbread due to the awful ICS experience.

I get the feeling the issue wont get fixed as the Arc / Arc S are old handsets now & most people in the UK have moved on to newer phones.

Latest BBC Media Player update released 6th March 2014 finally FIXES the BBC I Player on Arc S running ICS - I've tested this today myself.

Please note the following:

My Arc S is rooted & running firmware 4.1.B.0.587 Android ICS 4.0.4, I also have Adobe flash player 11.1 version 11.1.115.81 installed.

If when you go to play a program your BBC I player just has the spinning symbol & then times out with an error code after updating the BBC Media Player app, try rebooting your handset.
