Battery Problems

So, the other night I was using my phone and then all of a sudden the battery drops to 0% something I've never seen it do before. It usually goes to 1% before shutting down. A minute ago it had been at about 11% battery.

After that  I was excpecting it to shut down but it didn't, so I turned it off, plugged it in, and left it over night.

In the morning I unplugged it expecting it to be fully charged, instead it had not charged at all and would not turn on. I proceeded to plug it in and then tried to turn it on again. It appeared to turn on but the screen did not. It vibrted as it usually does when I turn it on and made the sound it usually does indicating I had recieved an e-mail/ text message but the screen would not turn on. So I took the battery out and reinserted it. I tried to turn it on again and that still did not work. Then I took it again and blew on the contacts, then turned it back on again, this seemed to work, I watched an episode of a television show, checked my e-mail, and blog, before attempting to shut the screen before leaving it to go to breakfast. It did not shut the screen and instead turned off one of the lights at the bottom (the back arrow) but not the other, or anything else. I tried to unlock it again to turn it off again, or just see what would happen but it had frozen. I took the battery again and then reinserted it. I turned it on again and it seemed fine again, I slept it and left it plugged in. I came back about 5 hours later expecting it to be fully charged (again), and unplugged it. The charging light which was still red did not turn off when I unplugged it and when I tried to turn it on (again), it did not do anything. The light did not turn off until I took the battery out (again), I put it back again and again tried to turn it on with no luck. I did this several more times but have not had any luck what so ever.

Is it the battery? Or am I just screwed? I had a problem with it in July when it suddenly lost all its battery power and went into a boot loop but it was fixed and had been working fine since then.
