Hi,
My phone's battery does not last long enough. At full charge in the morning, it falls to less than 10% by night (that is, say, 14-16 hours). I use my phone for twitter and gmail. Auto Sync is on. Wifi is off.
Looking at applications use as per battery, I see display at 40% (approximately), with a usage time of approx two hours. I have put the brightness to least possible, with auto-brightness on. All i do is check for my twitter feed and read stuff.
I don't know but is this normal at all?
thanks
Aditya
Go to setting > power management > Turn on the " Extended standby mode"
Hi Viki,
I do not see power management in settings.
thanks
aditya
Auto Syn consume lot of battery, turn the battery saver mode on
"Extended Standby Mode" is only available for Android 4.0.
Turning Auto-Sync off or anything else (like an Extended Standby mode - which isnt there since my phone is NOT on ICS yet) are not real solutions. I am asking, is it normal for the usage that i am doing, for the phone to get exhausted in 16 hours. If it is not normal then maybe I should do a reset or do something else.
Oh no, its not answered. Please dont "assume answered".
hi adityeah, before i updated my phone to ICS my phone batt normally last at least 6 hours due to heavy usage. here is my checklist to get my battery to last longer:
1. check auto-rotate if it's functioning - disable if not needed
2. brightness - i place the backlight widget on the desktop then i dim my screen most of the time, when i can't see my screen that's the only time i switch the backlight on again.
3. i don't use vibrate or haptic feedback
4. i only switch on my bluetooth when needed
5. i don't use live wallpapers
6. i installed a task killer and switch off background apps when not needed
7. i also switch off data traffic, auto-sync, gps and roaming when not needed
8. i manually sync my twitter, gmail and facebook
i normally do the above stuff when i know a charging dock would be difficult to find or when i'm travelling, batt life would at least be a day and a half. Hope this helps.
let me know if you have any questions.
For me it worked a lot improving the phone battery. So would advice you to try the steps below.
a) Perform a MASTER RESET on your phone.
b) Connect it to PC companion and perform a phone repair.
c) Open SONY UPDATE SERVICE(SUS), Using SUS reinstall your phone software.
d) Install juice defender ans select aggressive profile, it is sure to improve battery life at least by 50%
Hope this will sort out your issue
