Battery maximization

I have bought an Xperia P, just 3 days ago... But the seems to drain very  quickly even in the enhanced mode. And when I checked on the battery status, it says the screen is using 71% of the battery... Can anybody pls throw some light on why is it so?? And how to minimize the same......??? Plzzz need an urgent rply as if it is a problem with the handset, I only have 2 more days for replacement...!!!

set the luminosity on auto or change it manually,try to close the apps you don't use.charge your phone fully about 10-15 times in order to get a proper battery life.

My Xperia P does the same, the screen take a lot of power (more than is normal to take). I use low light setting. Maybe there is a driver peroblem?? If I only keep the screen on, doing nothing, from full charge to zero is going in 2 hours. That is not normal.

if your phone is new or with fresh software,it takes a little time to settle.if not,try to repair with sus or pcc.
