The battery in the Xperia Z is a built in type.

Is it a Li-Ion battery with the same short lifetme as other Li-Ion batteries?

What lifetime does Sony promise?

I mean lifetime like how many years before the battery dies?

its not quite about years but about full cycles, a cycle will be when you charge from 0% to 100%,  50% to 100% will be half cycle, an average battery has 200 full cycles or so, after that it won't hold charge as good, so it might take a bit longer to charge to 100% or it might get depleted faster.

please guide me.. i just bought an xperia z yesterday and when i was using it in the morning the battery percentage was 74% and with in 4 hours of normal whatsapp usage it became 15% . I mean the stamina mode is on still this things are happening .. whats the use of an expensive phone if we have to use it in stamina mode n crap plus i m seriously dissapointed with what sony has offered in turms of battery life ..

charge your phone 100% > once your battery drops to 10% go to

settings > power management > battery usage > take screenshots of

1) the list

2) tap on the graph and take a screenshot

3) press back and tap on the top 3 items on the list (take a screenshot of each)

screenshot = press and hold Power & volume down at the same time.

Also check this

settings > power management > tap on Stamina mode if you have any apps on this list that require internet access it will defeat the purpose of Stamina mode as your data plan or wifi will remain on, thus draining your battery.

I think that's your situation, an smartphone with a screen this size with normal to heavy use will last 8-10hrs
