Does the device indicate the battery level using the notification lights? For example, red for low battery levels and green for high? If so, I recommend that you try waiting until it indicates a low battery percentage > Force a shutdown by holding the power button and the volume up button until the device vibrates three times > charge the device fully while it's turned off > Turn it on. Does it show a correct battery level now? Alternatively, wait until the device fully discharges before charging it fully while it's turned off
