Battery lasts only for 8-10 hrs

Hi Sony,

I bought xperia p about 5 days back. But its really painfull to tell that battery give backup only for 8-10 hrs. These are phone usages ,

2G

WIFI/GPS OFF

BRIGHTNESS - AUTO

NO MAILBOX

NO GTALK/GMAIL

PHONE CALLS - UPTO 15 MINS MAX THROUGHT THE DAY

INTERNET BROWSING - 15-20 MINS

Sony please help. Its very dissapointing after buying such a costly product which gives such poor performance.

     Seems you are using some theme or Live wallpaper. Animations may draw lots of battery stocks. so try replace with normal wallpapers in the background.

     And one more thing is battery back up increases after some battery charging cycles., so may be it will increase after a week.

But even the phone is on standby it does not mean that he is not doing anything. In browsing Xperia P managed to beat Xperia Sola by 50min.

In movie test when all the screens were set on the same brightness level (250 cd/m²) Xperia Sola managed to beat Xperia P by 40min.

And in calling test after one hour of calls Xperia Sola battery went down for 8% and given the battery capacity it turns out that for one hour of calling Xperia Sola needs 105mAh. Now look at Xperia P results. After one hour of calling Xperia P battery went down for 18%. That means that Xperia P needs 235mAh.

I believe that these results should be alarming for Sony Mobile software engineers. I can’t believe how almost identical phones can have so much different power consumption unless there is some software bug.

Done all the possiblilites to save battery, even keeping brightness to level 1. Still max battery consumption is by display. Dont knw what SONY is upto.. Can take the fact that just 8 hrs backup in a 25K phone..... Sony please save yourself

No battery issue so far with following setting

Network mode don't select auto (select WCDMA)

Select network operator manually

Remove top contact

Disable background data

Installed Juice Defender

No GPS

How often do you charge your phone with this settings? Or better, tell us more about your usage pattern and battery life times you get with your settings, and preferably post a screen shots.
