Battery issue and over heating

i got my xperia sl just a week back
and i hav updated my phone to the latest software version also but still battery backup is ver ver poor not even lasting for a day without

any gaming
if i play games even for 10 mins its getting over heated and the temp is around 45 c and the back pannel becomes really hot

pls give a suggestion which actually works

Well, these phones get a lot warmer then traditional phones due to the more powerful hardware. The phone has built in functions to prevent overheating so you shouldn't have to worry about it. 45 c doesn't sound extreme in any way. Using power consuming functions as gaming, wifi etc will drain the battery faster and therefor make the phone hotter as well.

Regarding the battery consumption you should at first try to de-activate functions when you're not using them, like wifi, bluetooth, gps etc.
