Battery indicator % missing

This morning I noticed the battery  percentage indicator , top left of screen was missing all other functions work.

Took battery out and recharged all seemed OK re charging,  looked all over setting for anything, but to no avail. Can any one point me in the direction for an answer.

How about settings-apps-all-smart connect or settings-power management-check status bar information.

I can not find any of those items on my phone I am still running gingerbread, I found phone status in settings, ( About phone) it shows the % of the battery level but no indication as to the screen % has gone. I assume the settings app you mentioned is the one showing all the functions wifi data sound roaming etc, this also shows no indication as to the problem.

Sorry,I thought you were ICS.Then I suggest a repair of software with sony update service.

                                  I have thought many times as to whether to update to ICS put the adverse comments from others have put me off.  Is it as bad as stated, may try in future. Once again thank you for your help

            I was not aware I could repair the software , can you please point me in that direction. I will try that first,  then give the upgrade to ICS some positive thought.

Just download sony update service,install,open and follow instruction.It will remove phone memory,be careful to back up.
