Battery Heat Issues?

Anyone else experiencing high battery temps with their ion? I just installed some system tester from Sony in the app store and found out it reported battery temp too. After checking it several times today I started to become worried. It has been reporting anywhere from 40°C to 46°C (~100°-115°F). Given I do have a case on it and do use data frequently (and its like 100°F outside during the day), is this the norm with everyone else? I suspect my case is a major culprit, but if I take the case off how am I supposed to protect the phone? The case has been off for about 30min though and I'm still reading 40°C (although I am charging and using data.) Should I be concerned about this?

I have the same problem, when data access using WiFi or 3G phone heats up a lot. I have an international version LT28i. -

And when it heats up the battery drains quickly.

I'be noticed the faster drain times too. I have the LT28a though. I'm also experiencing quite a few system freezes lately, but that might have more to do with my usage and the sheer number of apps I have rather than the heat of the system. (6.5 pages, plus add-ons for timeline and my liveview watch. XD)

Try to kill some heavy weight apps, and uninstall antivirus , also you can use juicy defender for better experience...

I experienced this also. The battery gets extremely hot. Especially when just listening to music.

Trying to avoid the consumption and overheating of the battery I installed several energy managers, most are a hoax, but I am testing the Premium version JuiceDefender and battery lasts me a little longer and not nearly hot, I will continue testing a few days more.

So far as I noticed with this energy manager is every indication that the problem of heating of the battery is a matter of software rather than hardware.
