battery drain

Hi,

I have earlier tried to ask a question here about my battery drain. I am now posting specifically my problem:

Last night I charged my xperia go till 100%. I did not use the phone for the next 9 hours. Auto Sync was off. Mobile network was on. Wifi/Bluetooth was off. I am using Xperia Go shipped as it is. NO ICS Update.

Today morning I see the battery level at 69%. I check the applications with battery usage and it says "Idle" has taken about 42%.

Is this normal?

Goto Settings>Wireless and Networks (More)>Mobile Networks>Data enabled. Untick this if you want to disable Mobile data.

Btw, I use Sony's Home widget myself for turning it off and on when I want easily. Just add the widget named 'Tools' in homescreen and you can enable/disable mobile data, bluetooh, wifi, gps in one tap. Slightly_smiling_Face

Hi Nolramlb,

The battery test option doesn't exist as u hv mentioned, plz help me in finding solution for my cell battery as i hv tried the option of charging it full --- power-off---remove battery--wait for 30-40 min --then switch on, but still the battery will drain drastically, i have even tried by disabling the data, also using only GSM network instead on 3G.

Hi again,

This is really becoming a problem now. I haven't yet had a proper answer despite posting it on this forum a few times.

The problem I mentioned was on GB. I updated to ICS and the problem persists. In fact, it has turned strange. Let me explain:

Night, phone charged to 100%. Mobile Data set to OFF. Wi-fi set to OFF. Morning, 7 hours later, battery is at 75%. Phone Idle consumed 40% of the battery. This is so bad.

Later in the day, battery at 33%. After 30 minutes it shows 37% and a few minutes later 40%! Then keeps going down.

Also, on an average, I see a drain of 5% per hour even with Wifi/Mobile Data off.

Sony please help!
