Battery drain from full charge after a few minutes and constant optimising at start up

Since I upgraded to lollipop a few weeks ago my phone battery started to drain fast turning off at 58% since then it's draining faster and more only lasts 1 or 2 minutes unplugged. Phone is also overheating a lot and now it's started to optimise when I turn the phone back on. Anyone found a solution yet? Phone was going great before I upgraded.
I'd like to downgrade now to fix this or is it too late? Have they broken it?

I had same problem and after a while it started to heat up and the back cover started to come away next to the camera so I sent mine back to Sony for repair cos it's was still under warranty

I tried that but still didn't make any difference uliwooly

I will try it once I am able to get to a pc, probably at the end of the week. My phone is the only way I can get internet as I can't get internet connected at my house.
Seems like now I can't use the phone unless it's plugged in now.
But I will try it and ley you know if it worked
