Hi All,
Since upgrading to lollipop around 2 weeks ago on my Z1 compact, my battery life has been terrible. 2 days after the update and frustrated with battery life, I connected to the PC companion software ready to factory reset, to find another update, which has stopped the Facebook app destroying my battery, and actually seemed to fix my battery issue as I went back to getting 2 days out of a charge. Sadly this only lasted not even a week.
The last two days have been the worst. After work yesterday it ran completely flat (no warning - and phone barely used). I charged it up to 100%, disconnected the charger, and went to sleep. I woke up in the morning to 8% battery - the phone was IDLE. The next charge, my phone told me it had fullly charged, but when I disconnected the charger, it was only at 96%. It took another half an hour to reach 100%, which was at 1130am. By the time I got home at 630pm, my battery was down to 35%. It is now almost flat and I am going to have to charge it for the 3rd time in 24 hours.
Checking battery usage, Android OS, Android System, Telstra (carrier), and Setup Wizard are all excessively draining the battery (the Android OS is the worst one with battery usage at 30%). It won't let me disable any of these, I can force stop only the Telstra one but it starts again straight away.
Does anyone have any suggestions? I am so frustrated by this, and my phone is unusable at the moment.

I used z1 compact today until the battery dropped to 54%. Then I left my phone aside on the table and came to pick it up 30 minutes later. The battery level was 24%. 30% vanished by itself.
I will either:
1.) Install 4.4.4 again and forget about 5.0.2 and 5.1.1 (though 5.0.2 didn't have such drops)
or
2.) go to the service center for the battery replacement
or
3.) forget about z1 compact and use some other mobile phone.
During the last two days I flashed my z1c several times. First I flashed the newest build .216 of 5.1.1 (for CE5), then got back to 5.0.2, then to 4.4.4, then to 5.0.2 (OTA) and I'm waiting now for battery to charge because it dropped from 70+ % to just 1% to flash it again to .368 of 5.1.1 (since .216 is not available yet for CE3).
I don't know what to think anymore. Z1c works so-so with 4.4.4 and doesn't demonstrate the notorious battery drain, but the very second it uses 5.x.x the battery drain becomes severe / extreme.
I should probably go to the service center for a battery replacement but I'm too frustrated to do so. Meanwhile, I'm using my old Xperia SP with Cyanogenmod 12.1 (Android 5.1.1) and I'm enjoying it! No battery drain, no fuss, everything works almost perfectly.
I purchased a new battery. You can find details in other similar topics on this forum. It fixed the battery drain problem.
