Hi,

How are you using the phone while it's charging? Are you playing games/watching movies etc? Are you charging the phone via wall socket?

Hello everyone. I don't know if what I think is something right or wrong. In my opinion, I think it is not a good idea to use the phone while charging it . This is because - I THINK - will damage the battery and its life. Am I right or wrong? Try to charge the phone without using it .

Thanks.

It's simple: your power consumption while using the phone is higher than charging power. This might happen if you are heavily using the phone during charging (even a full brightness screen on will drain a lot of power), or you are using a weak charging source (like USB port from PC, car charger or a low ampere wall charger).

It has been a long debate about using phne while charging. Basically there are safety concerns of overheating the phone, as both charging and using phone resources will increase temperature to the extent of phone sutting down ofr thermal protection or even phone damage. But I don't think this will affect your battery performance.

Actually all Xperia user manuals state clearly that you CAN use your phone while charging.

Thank you Quester. So this will not affect the battery - using the phone while charging it - So nothig bad is going to affect the battery.

Thanks mate.

It should not harm your battery, unless you go really agressive with heavy graphics games for example for a really long time, and didn't care for your device temperature. Then you might have thermal damage happening to your phone overall, not just the battery.
