From time to time I'm facing issue with battery and 'mediaserver' software built in my mobile phone. Fully charged phone discharge in 7-8 hours in 'sleep' mode - i.e. it is blocked and no active application is running. But in 'battery' statistics in settings i see that 'mediaserver'is the main consumer - about 85-90% (same time there are only 'Cell standby', 'Screen', 'Android system', 'Phone idle' items in the list apart from 'mediaserver'). The only way in this situation is to restart phone to stop battery draining. I don't think that it was intended to be so, more over that it is unpredictable when this 'mediaserver' will start to eat my battery. And, yes, I have the latest updates available installed on my phone.
Have you ever used the media server feature in your phone? The behavior you describe seems rather strange so I suggest that you try to reinstall the phone software using SUS.
No, I never used it, at least I never explictly start it. Seems that it is a part of system - could you mention what software migt use it?
Reinstallation does not help, update also - I already have latest available version.
