background image is reset when restarted

Hi, 

everytime I restart my phone, the background image is reset. How can I fix that? At the support menu (http://www.sonymobile.com/global-en/support), there isn't the option for software update for the Xperia L. Why is that? The phone is a little bit slow sometimes, and I don't have too many apps in it. What can I do to make it work better?

Is the image you set stored on a SD card as it could be issue with the card meaning your phone will revert to default images on bootup

thanks a lot! it solved my problem. the image was saved at the sd card. i transfered it to the phone and now this problem doesn't happen anymore.
