Back cover and waterproof

Hi guys , i cracked my sony z2 back cover and changed it today but my friends told me it won't be waterproof anymore , is that correct ? And if yes then what should i do to make it waterproof again ?

If you performed the repair yourself, then there is a big chance that this device is no longer waterproof, as a vacuum test is required to clarify.
